Live Your Rom-Com Dream in the Home from ‘The Idea of You’

The idyllic home that was a filming location from the popular new movie is listed on Airbnb right now.

The Idea of You is a movie-based-on-a-book-based-on-fan-fiction—and your next trip can be a vacation-based-on—The-Idea-of-You—a-movie-based–on-a-book-based-on-fan-fiction. The movie follows a newly 40-year-old mom who meets a boy band pop star when she takes her daughter to a concert and the age-gapped pair’s whirlwind romance. Although it is set in California,  in classic movie magic fashion, The Idea of You was actually filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

And in that southern state, you can find the quaint home where Solène (Anne Hathaway) and Hayes (Nicholas Galitzine) shared some of their intimate and swoon-worthy moments. After filming wrapped, there was no set to disassemble. The house still stands in the popular Virginia Highland neighborhood in Atlanta and is now available for rent on Airbnb.

The home has an open floor plan with three bedrooms, a freshly renovated kitchen, a cozy den, a glassed-in sunroom, and a front porch. It is in these spaces that Solené and Hayes further deepen their romance. That passionate piano makeout scene? That happened in the den! Imagine sipping some coffee there on a quiet morning, maybe Harry’s House playing softly in the background. That’s as close to fan fiction fantasies as many of us will ever be able to enjoy.

Plus, it's within walking distance of some of Atlanta's most popular offerings, like the Beltline, Piedmont Park, and Ponce City Market. So after you're done living imagining being the person your favorite singer spots in the crowd and falls madly in love with, you can go and take a grounding walk and get some fresh air in the real world.

Surprisingly, the home isn't totally booked out through 2024 and can be rented starting at $380 per night. Check out the rental and availability at Airbnb.com. Just remember, the moon-eyed boy band singer with a voice like honey and a toned torso covered in a scrapbook smattering of tattoos is not included in the listing.
